It's been a while again between devlogs, but things are really looking good for BATTY VAMPS! Raylib recently added built-in gpu skinning which has unlocked my ability to have varied NPC behavior. Before I needed all my NPCs to share the same model and thus animation. But with the huge performance gain of gpu skinning I can have all my NPCs doing their own thing with their own model.
As a first pass at using this freedom, NPCs now wander around the city. Sometimes they'll stop and take a breather. But if they catch sight or sound of Batty, they'll make a break for it!
Next I'll add the ability for NPCs to fight back against Batty, and I think that will take the gameplay to the next level.
But for now, please let me know how the game plays as is. I'm curious what players think of the current behavior.
